The process
How a photo becomes a product
Three steps. We look at your photo before anything is printed and only email you if it needs replacing — otherwise it goes straight into production.
1. Upload your dog's photo
Pick a product, upload one clear photo of your dog and add a name if you want one. See which photo works best.
2. We check the photo and prepare the artwork
We look at every photo before it goes to print. If it is too small, too dark or too blurry to print well, we email you and ask for another one first.
3. We print and ship
Your product is printed from your photo and shipped with USPS tracking. Production takes 2-3 business days, then 3-5 business days in transit inside the US.

What actually changes the result
Three things decide whether a print looks like your dog or like a photo of your dog. None of them is the product you picked.
The size of the file, not the size of the dog
A photo that fills a phone screen can still be too small to print at pillow or blanket size. Send the original file from the camera roll — not a screenshot of it, not the copy a chat app compressed on the way to you.
Light does more than focus
Even daylight from a window gives fur its detail back. Harsh sun makes hard shadows across the face, and backlighting turns a dark dog into a silhouette that no print can rescue.
The crop decides the product
A head-and-shoulders close-up works on everything. A full-body shot on a sofa works on a blanket and nowhere else. Pick the photo you have, then pick the product it suits — not the other way round.
Which photo to use
What makes a photo print well
- Good, even light — daylight works best; avoid harsh shadows and backlighting.
- Sharp focus on the face — you should be able to see individual fur detail.
- The whole head in frame — ears, top of the head and chin, nothing cropped off.
- The biggest version of the file you have — send the original, not a screenshot or a photo re-saved from a chat app.
- One dog per photo, unless the product has a multi-dog option.
- You own the photo, or you have permission to use it.

Dog Photo Product Guides: common questions
Which dog photo product is easiest to get right?
Blankets and mugs. Blankets print large enough that a whole scene works, and a mug is read at arm’s length, so neither one punishes a photo that is merely good. Socks and ornaments are the least forgiving, because the printed face ends up small.
Do I need a professional photo?
No. A sharp, well-lit phone photo taken at the dog’s eye level beats a professional shot taken in bad light. What matters is focus on the face, even light, and the original file rather than a re-saved copy.
What happens if my photo will not print well?
We look at every photo before anything is printed. If it is too small, too dark or too blurry, we email you and ask for a different one first. Nothing goes to print until that is settled, and we only get in touch when something would genuinely go wrong.
Can I put two dogs on one product?
On the products that offer it, yes — each product page shows its own limit. If you want two dogs together, a portrait or a blanket gives the layout the most room to work with.
Can I add my dog’s name?
On most products, yes, and it is optional. The name is printed exactly as you type it, so check the spelling at checkout — that is the one thing we cannot catch for you.
What if the item arrives damaged or the print is wrong?
Email [email protected] within 30 days of delivery with photos and you choose: we remake it or we refund you. That covers print defects, transit damage and wrong items — see returns for what is not covered.
