A custom pet portrait made from a photo you already have. You choose how you want it treated — the photo as it is, a clean cutout, or a digital portrait style — and we build the artwork and print it. A name can be part of the layout. Portraits print large, so this is where photo quality counts most, and we check every file before printing.

1. Upload your dog's photo
Pick a product, upload one clear photo of your dog and add a name if you want one. See which photo works best.
2. We check the photo and prepare the artwork
We look at every photo before it goes to print. If it is too small, too dark or too blurry to print well, we email you and ask for another one first.
3. We print and ship
Your product is printed from your photo and shipped with USPS tracking. Production takes 2-3 business days, then 3-5 business days in transit inside the US.

What makes a photo print well
- Good, even light — daylight works best; avoid harsh shadows and backlighting.
- Sharp focus on the face — you should be able to see individual fur detail.
- The whole head in frame — ears, top of the head and chin, nothing cropped off.
- The biggest version of the file you have — send the original, not a screenshot or a photo re-saved from a chat app.
- One dog per photo, unless the product has a multi-dog option.
- You own the photo, or you have permission to use it.

What are the portrait styles?
Three ways of treating the same photo: the photo itself, a clean cutout of your dog on a plain background, and a digital portrait style. Each product page shows which ones it offers.
Is this a painting?
No. Every MyDogPics portrait is digital artwork built from your photograph and then printed. Nothing is painted or drawn by hand.
What photo do I need?
The largest, sharpest file you have, with the face in focus and decent light. Portraits print larger than anything else we make, so photo quality shows more here than anywhere else.
Do I approve the portrait before printing?
No, there is no approval step. We check your photo before printing and email you if it is not large or sharp enough for the size you picked — on portraits, that check matters most.
Can two dogs be in one portrait?
On portraits with a multi-dog option, yes. Upload one photo per dog rather than one photo containing both.
Can I get the same artwork on a blanket or a mug?
Yes — order that product separately and upload the same photo.
